Terry Curran is an English former professional footballer born on March 20, 1955, in Kinsley, near Hemsworth, West Riding of Yorkshire. His career spanned from 1975 to 1988, during which he played primarily as an attacking midfielder, winger, or striker. Curran is particularly remembered for his time at Sheffield Wednesday, where he was instrumental in the club’s revival during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

He began his career with Doncaster Rovers in the Fourth Division before moving to Nottingham Forest. His journey took him through various clubs including Derby County, Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Everton, and several others, showcasing his versatility and flair on the field. Curran was known for his maverick style, which included memorable moments like scoring 24 goals in Sheffield Wednesday’s promotion season from Division Three in 1979-80.

After retiring, Terry Curran managed non-league teams like Goole Town and Mossley. He published his autobiography titled “Regrets of a Football Maverick” in 2012.
